Diamond Vally

The newly combined town of Diamond Valley is comprised of two municipalities formerly known as Turner Valley and Black Diamond. Diamond Valley is quaint and charming, with lots of great places to stop. They have some wonderful local spots to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping.

Among the many parks and green spaces, there is a new pump track in town and two beautiful campgrounds. Summer activities include an outdoor pool and a spray park which are popular with the entire community. From Diamond Valley, you are only a 20 min drive to Sheep River provincial park, Sandy McNabb, and Blue Rock provincial park. These amazing parks have lots of great hiking trails and some beautiful lookout points. There are also day use areas scattered throughout the area.

Some of our favorite locally owned and operated restaurants and breweries in the foothills are located in Diamond Valley. Restaurants on the east side like Saigon Moon (Vietnamese), Westwood, The Black Diamond Bar and the Pizza at Cazza Bistro are all excellent. Local breweries Hard Knox (Diamond Valley east) and Fahr Brewery (Diamond Valley west) are a great place to wet your whistle, and the Eau Claire Distillery (west) shouldn’t be missed either. If you are looking to support a great local cause, the Turner Valley Legion has a wing night every Thursday. Diamond Valley is also home to the world renowned Chuckwagon Café which has been open since 1973. If you haven’t made it out there for breakfast yet it’s definitely a must!

Local Highlights

Diamond Valley is a small town tucked into the foothills at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The former twin towns of Black Diamond and Turner Valley were separated by the Sheep River, with Black Diamond located on the east side and Turner Valley located on the west side.

Black Diamond gained its name from the nearby coal deposits, while Turner Valley was named after Robert and John Turner who settled in the area.
